Research Summary

A recent study of drinking by men under age 25 found that almost half meet the definition of binge drinkers, but most don't see their behavior as abusive or dangerous, the Guardian reported Oct. 27.

The study from Bupa Wellness also found that one-third of female drinkers under age 25 also were binge drinkers. U.K. health officials define bingeing as women consuming six or more drinks at a sitting or men having eight or more drinks.

Eighty percent of those surveyed said they don't keep track of how much they drink.
