TIP 16: Alcohol and Other Drug Screening of Hospitalized Trauma Patients

This TIP recommends alcohol and drug screening (blood and urine) of injured patients aged 14 and older at hospital admission. A comprehensive substance abuse assessment is outlined and some brief intervention techniques are described.
