Improving the Quality of Drug and Alcohol Treatment

"Someone or some group must step forward and accept the responsibility of improving the quality of treatment for substance use disorders," said David Rosenbloom, director of Join Together.

This Action Kit was created to help communities break the cycle of poor outcomes and misperceptions about substance use disorders. It includes:

Strategies for guiding the work of a quality treatment task force
Descriptions of the phases of treatment
Background information on treatment interventions
A worksheet based on NIDA's Principles of Drug Addiction Treatment that can be used to gauge how well a community addresses the NIDA Principles
