Alcohol and other drug problems among hospitalized trauma patients: controlling complications, mortality, and trauma recidivism.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) convened a conference to discuss alcohol and drug problems among trauma center patients. The conference aimed to promote understanding of a new conceptual model for substance use disorders and to encourage collaboration between clinical physicians and substance-use treatment professionals and researchers.
