CADCA Solicits Proposals for 2009 National Leadership Forum

CADCA is seeking innovative proposals for its 2009 National Leadership Forum. The 2009 Forum is scheduled to take place in Washington, D.C. on February 9-12, 2009 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center. The theme is Charting the Course: Stronger Partnerships for Healthier Communities.

CADCA is requesting proposals that address the learning tracks for the conference. Presentations should address the latest research findings, program successes, lessons learned or problems solved.

Workshop Tracks

The 2009 Forum will feature over 100 interactive workshop sessions categorized in 11 functional topic areas or tracks:

  • Community Conversations  
  • Communications...21st Century 
  • Cash for Communities 
  • Cooperate, Coordinate, Collaborate 
  • Curtailing Consumption 
  • Community-Researcher Partnerships 
  • Community Change 
  • Cultivating Champions
  • Communities of Color
  • National Prevention Network
  • Summit for Youth Leaders

Workshop Presentation Format

The workshop sessions will be 60 or 120 minutes (2-part consecutive sessions) in length. We welcome presentations that are targeted for beginning, intermediate or advanced practitioners. Presenters offering innovative approaches and programs addressing underserved and/or ethnically diverse populations, especially those grounded in research, are strongly encouraged to submit.

Presentations must fit within one of the above tracks to be considered. An equal amount of presentations within each track will be selected

Poster Session Format

A Poster Session highlights aspect of your substance abuse work using text and graphics to visually present information in exciting and informative ways. CADCA's Forum Poster Session will be held in the Exhibit Hall during the Welcome Reception on the evening of Monday, February 9, 2009. This Poster Session will offer participants time to walk by, review each poster and ask more detailed questions of the presenter(s). Applicants must submit a proposal to present a poster within one of the Forum tracks and complete the Call for Proposals application.

Submission Process

You must submit the completed Call for Proposals online application form with a brief bio on each presenter by October 24, 2008. Please note that CADCA will not accept paper copies.
