We would like to invite you to the 2008 California Youth Conference & Teen Leadership Training Institute (CYC/TLTI). This year, the California Friday Night Live Partnership partnered with Youth Leadership Institute to host a statewide, youth-driven leadership conference for teens 14-18 years old. It will be held August 5-8th at University of Riverside, California.

The conference is an opportunity to bring young people and their adult allies together from across the state to learn from each other about the power of youth leadership and how to use our voices to create healthier, more just communities. This convening will highlight issues affecting young people and their communities as well as strategies that young people are utilizing to help create positive social change.

About the theme:
The conference theme, "What if We Stop the Music?", is meant to provoke questions and dialogue. "Music" is intentionally undefined so that participants of CYC/TLTI can decide for themselves...is music the solutions and successful strategies we are engaging in (e.g. violence prevention) or is the music the chaos and struggles (e.g. violence against and among young people) that impact our communities?

CYC/TLTI is proud to utilize youth-adult partnerships throughout the planning and execution of this exciting event. This is sure to be an incredible opportunity to demonstrate the leadership of young people all over the state of California – one you won't want to miss!
