Stay on top of the latest developments in group therapies for addictions!

The Journal of Groups in Addiction & Recovery is the first peer-reviewed group therapy journal that attends to both the addiction and the mental health needs of clients. This journal offers an important forum for the diverse team of treatment providers, clinicians, educators, and researchers that serve addictions groups. The journal presents up-to-date clinical, research, and training articles involving a broad range of addictions and compulsive behaviors.

The Journal of Groups in Addiction & Recovery provides a unique opportunity for group therapists and addictions treatment professionals -- as well as academics, researchers, and other health care practitioners -- to learn about the latest developments in this specialized form of addictions treatment. The editorial board includes representatives from diverse theoretical persuasions, facilitating communication among the professional communities working with addictions groups.

Some of the topics covered in the Journal of Groups in Addiction & Recovery:

  • alcoholism
  • chemical dependence
  • eating disorders
  • sexual compulsivity
  • money compulsivity
  • codependence
  • inpatient and outpatient treatment
  • therapeutic communities
  • interpersonal therapy
  • cognitive-behavioral therapy

Recurring features in the Journal of Groups in Addiction & Recovery include:

  • a consultation section -- a clinical question is addressed by a panel of group therapists
