The National Public Radio business program "Marketplace" recently featured a story on drug courts. The segment offers a powerful message about recovery and the cost-effectiveness of drug court programs.
"Drug courts have long been recognized by lawmakers and criminal justice professionals as the most effective means of intervening with substance abusing individuals before the courts," said Judge Karen Freeman-Wilson (ret.), Chief Executive Officer of the National Association of Drug Court Professionals.
"This story will lead to a greater public awareness of the important work drug courts are performing in communities across the nation. It is especially appropriate that this story appeared during National Drug Court Month, as drug court programs across the country celebrate a message of recovery and hope."
