Registration is now open via www.hsph.harvard.edu/cas

After a decade of conducting the landmark College Alcohol Study (CAS), our research is undergoing a major change. We are making the survey available to other schools currently not in our national sample, and are expanding the areas that the survey covers. While retaining the key alcohol and substance abuse measures, the new College Health Behaviors (CHB) survey includes questions about mental health, stress, sleep, physical activity and diet, HIV/AIDS risk behaviors, and campus health center use.

In spring 2004, we will again collect responses from thousands of students at a nationally representative sample of 120 colleges that have participated in the CAS since 1993. For the first time, we are also offering to conduct the CHB at additional colleges across the country.

We invite you to learn how the CHB can help you assess the health of your students via:

WHAT: Free Interactive Web Seminar: "A New Opportunity to Learn More about Your Students' Health Behaviors"
WHEN: Tuesday, November 18th, 2003 from 1:30-2:30 pm (EST)
HOW: Sign-up for the seminar at our Web site: www.hsph.harvard.edu/cas by November 14th, 2003

The CHB offers the following advantages:

  • Opportunity to receive your own dataset and personalized consultation with our research team to help you understand the results;

  • A sample of 750 students permits you to conduct more detailed analysis of student health behaviors on your own campus;

  • Direct comparisons to the only existing nationally representative college sample, as well as to results from groups of similar schools;

  • A history of results based on scientific methods and integrity;

  • Efficient Web-based survey format; and

  • Hands-free administration.
