News Summary

The full Delaware Senate could soon vote on a measure that would legalize medical use of marijuana in the state, the Wilmington News Journal reported June 4.

With no opposition, the measure cleared a Senate committee and headed to the floor, where the lead sponsor plans to seek a vote after making some technical adjustments to the bill, SB-94. The legislation would allow Delaware residents with a state-issued medical-marijuana ID card to purchase up to 6 ounces of the drug for medical use or grow up to 12 plants for personal medical use.

The Medical Society of Delaware has remained neutral on the bill. The legislation was modeled on a measure recently approved in the state of Michigan.

WOW! I wish we could get our reps and legislators to work with us here in Michigan, as they do there in Delaware... That is something to model! A LOT of states seem to be catching on, and its obviously for a reason. WAY TO GO! I live in Michigan, and am awaiting my card. We are experiencing some turbulence from our own senate. This guy is trying to monopolies what we have just worked SO hard for. its DISGUSTING! SB 617/19

It is truly sad that states continue to violate the constitution and make laws that are contrary to the federal laws. We shall reap the whirlwind! BfromB1P, congratulations on getting medicianal marijuana for your hang nail. A person like you proably would have died without that medication. Medical Marijuana is a joke people, wake up before it is too late.

hey Verde, the PRESIDENT has given them permission to so why not? i'm not a big fan of marijuana but it does seem to be more medically viable then alcohol and tobacco and those are both legal and much more damaging to your health. not to mention the hundreds of other legal pharmaceuticals out there that are much more harmful to your health. who knows.

Attacking someone without knowing their situation is pretty narrow minded. I have chronic pain from back and neck injuries and constant pain from a car accident. Believe me when i tell you that life would be far easier if i could light up instead of paying for and taking narcotics that are highly addictive. And less damaging to my health as a whole. Drinking and smoking are as legal as they can be, and yet they are both far more damaging than hitting a pipe. Think about how you would feel if someone told you that you will hurt for the rest of your life. Not much fun, believe me. I will only get worse as time goes by. Being in my late 40's, thats pretty bleak. I don't sleep. Have trouble eating most days, and I'm miserable...what would you suggest I try??
