News Summary

In a new report, Pride Surveys says the "typical" school-age methamphetamine user is 17 who first tried meth at age 12.6 years, and is a white male who lives with both parents.

He also is an underachiever in school, and doesn't think meth is harmful.

Both parents of the "typical" user tended to be employed high school graduates who also attended or graduated college.

The profile was drawn from 3,000-plus self-reported surveys of students in grades 6-12.
