Author and addiction-recovery speaker William Cope Moyers will launch a nationally syndicated column called "Beyond Addiction" this month, Editor & Publisher reported Oct. 1.

The column will be distributed by Creators Syndicate starting on Oct. 8. Moyers is vice president of external affairs for the Hazelden Foundation and author of the 2006 bestseller "Broken," a memoir of his own addiction and recovery.

Moyers is a former journalist and son of TV-show host and reporter William Moyers.
