News Summary

A new government-sponsored website in Australia features inspirational stories of recovery from people formerly addicted to alcohol and other drugs, the Australian Broadcasting Company reported June 21.

The Positive Stories site, established by the Australian National Council on Drugs, aims to provide inspiration to others trying to break their addictions and show that addiction can be overcome.

"There are people who are telling these amazing stories of resilience and of courage and overcoming the greatest possible obstacles and get on and live a fruitful life," said Salvation Army spokesman Brian Watters.
