News Summary

Judge George Hancher of Butler County, Pa., has ordered Jennifer Langston to carry a photograph of the teacher she killed while driving drunk as part of her five-year probation sentence. But Langston objected to the photo chosen, which showed the victim in his casket, the Associated Press reported Jan. 14.

In June 2002, Langston killed Glenn Clark when she collided head-on with his pick-up truck. Clark's wife, who was pregnant at the time of the collision, remains in a coma.

Last September, Langston pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide, reckless endangerment, and reckless driving.

The judge ordered Langston to carry a photograph of Clark. The picture submitted by Clark's family showed him in his coffin.

Langston's attorney, Michael Sherman, objected to the photo, but the judge ruled that Langston would have to carry it.

"This makes no sense to me. Requiring Jennifer to carry a picture like that defeats the whole purpose if the purpose is to look and remember," said Sherman. "Who in their right mind will look at such a picture?"
