News Summary

The Illinois House of Representatives Judiciary Committee passed a bill that would make it a Class 4 felony to use, sell, or make products that can alter drug-test results, the Associated Press reported March 5.

In sponsoring the measure, Rep. Roger Eddy (R-Hutsonville) said the Internet makes it easy to get products that help people mask positive drug tests.

"We are supporting an industry that shouldn't exist," Eddy said. "It clearly should not be something that this state allows."

The measure now moves on to the full House for a vote.
