University's Greek Community Addresses Risky Drinking April 14, 2006
Communities in Action The University of Wyoming will hold a Greek Town Hall Meeting on April 12 to educate its fraternity and sorority students about the risks associated with underage and high risk alcohol use, the University of Wyoming reported on April 7.
The event will feature panelists from various groups, including the state's first lady, Nancy Freudenthal, an active leader in the statewide initiative to reduce underage drinking.
The coordinator of the university's educational AWARE (Alcohol, Wellness Alternatives, Research and Education) program, Lena Edmunds, will also speak as a panelist.
"Our role is to provide students with accurate information regarding substance use and the skills necessary to reduce or eliminate harm," said Edmunds.
Other panelists will include the presidents of a fraternity and a sorority, an attorney formerly on the university's Board of Trustees and the director of a local emergency room.
