Knoxville, Tennessee's Metropolitan Drug Commission (MDC) plans to publish the fourth edition of its Pathways manual for substance abuse treatment providers, the Knoxville News-Sentinel recently reported. Knoxville is a Demand Treatment! Partner.

Last updated in 2001, Pathways provides a comprehensive guide to available treatment, prevention, education and law enforcement resources in Tennessee. More than 1,000 agencies, physicians, hospitals and public health workers have received the manual over the last 13 years, and it is viewed as many as 200,000 times each month on the MDC website at www.metrodrug.org.

"We use the manual here quite a bit," Aneisa McDonald of the MDC told Demand Treatment. "We find that many treatment professionals and providers are often not aware of all the services that are available to them. The manual serves as a guide for all of us."

The commission is calling for any updates or additions to agency information to be submitted by July 30. For more information, visit www.metrodrug.org or contact the MDC at 865-588-5550.
