Golf Tournament Raises $24,000 for California Drug Court May 27, 2005
Communities in Action The 7th annual East Valley 2nd Chance Golf Tournament at the Redlands Country Club earned an estimated $24,000 for the Redlands Drug Court, the Redlands Daily Facts reported May 11.The 146 golfers participating in the fundraiser included members of San Bernardino County's business and public offices, including local hospitals and banks and the offices of the public defender and district attorney.
The event also featured a live auction, with prizes donated by local businesses and individuals, including gourmet dinners and vacation trips.
East Valley 2nd Chance Inc. is a non-profit organization that raises funds for the participants of the drug court, 89 percent of whom remain free from crime and substance abuse after completing the 18-month program of counseling, court appointments, drug testing and community service.
