Gallatin Responsive Interventions Partnership Gets Funding from State June 11, 2004
Communities in Action The Gallatin Responsive Interventions Partnership (GRIP), a Demand Treatment! Partner in Gallatin County, Montana, has been asked to contract with the state's Department of Public Health and Human Services to provide technical assistance and training in screening and brief intervention to two Montana communities. GRIP will provide on-site training to treatment agencies and coordinators, and work with them to reach out to and train healthcare providers, faith leaders, and schools, and to set up community-wide leadership teams. The two-year agreement will start July 1, 2004.
"We feel that the hard work we have done in Bozeman on screenings and brief interventions has been very productive, and will continue in our community and around the state," said Shelley Johnson, director of the Alcohol and Drug Services of Gallatin County, home of GRIP.
"My head's still spinning," said Shaun Phoenix, GRIP coordinator. "I'm just not sure what this is going to look like, but it's definitely exciting, and affirming."
