Kelliegh Bannen, an emerging Nashville star, is honoring the memory of her brother by performing 90 shows in 90 days to raise money for addiction research, KPLR-TV reported March 23.

Bannen's brother, Grant, struggled with addiction and died last year of an Oxycontin overdose; Bannen chose to perform for 90 straight days because she said that's how long addiction treatment programs can last.

All proceeds from the shows will go to the Butler Center for Research at Hazelden. Venues have included concerts halls and self-help centers in Tennessee, Texas, Ohio, Missouri, and other states.
