Six grant application workshops have been scheduled for groups interested in applying for the Drug-Free Communities grants program.

The program is administered by the federal Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), which plans to issue the Request for Applications on or about Jan. 14.

The workshops will be held in New Orleans on Jan. 23, Los Angeles on Jan. 29, Chicago Jan. 31, Denver on Feb. 5-6 (tentative location; the second day is for Native American communities), and Washington, D.C., on Feb. 15.

Approximately 150 new DFC grants of up to $125,000* each will be awarded in 2008. For more details on the program, see the ONDCP website.

For more details on the workshops, contact Jack W. Claypoole or Ken Shapiro at ONDCP.

*Correction, Jan. 7, 2008: As originally published, this summary erroneously listed $150,000 as the top amount. The DFC grant award limit is $125,000.
