Fifty-five new grants totaling $91 million were recently awarded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to community-based programs that provide integrated addiction and HIV/AIDS prevention services.
Grants of up to $400,000 each were made over a five-year period under SAMHSA's Strategic Prevention Framework in order to build prevention capacity in underserved communities, including those with majority African-American, Latino, and other minority populations, that have high rates of HIV/AIDS and addiction.
The grants are administered by SAMHSA's Center for Substance Abuse Prevention. A full list of grantees can be found at the link above.
