RWJF Funds Continuation of Reclaiming Futures Project March 2, 2007
Funding Tips & Trends
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) has approved a $5.6-million continuation grant for its Reclaiming Futures project, including support for the 10 existing project sites and funding for new sites.
The foundation will soon be accepting applications from programs nationally that would like to implement the Reclaiming Futures model, which aims to improve addiction-related services for adolescents involved in the justice system.
The five-year-old project includes 10 communities nationally. New sites will be added over the next four years, and a national resource center will be established to other communities seeking to help justice-involved youth.
"By spreading Reclaiming Futures across the country, we are creating a national movement that can make a vital difference in the health of youth and their families," said Kristin Schubert, RWJF's program officer for the Reclaiming Futures project. "These pilot communities are leading the way."
Reclaiming Futures will invite applications from communities interested in participating as one of the new pilot sites in late spring 2007. Successful applicants will be selected in the summer of 2007, and will receive technical assistance, onsite coaching, educational materials, and invitations to national conferences and workshops.
