CDC Funds to Support Truth Antismoking Ads February 2, 2007
Funding Tips & Trends
The "Truth" series of youth smoking-prevention ads, produced by the American Legacy Foundation, has received a $3.6 million matching grant from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The funding will allow Legacy to expand its advertising in 18 states over the next three years, including in smaller communities where exposure to the Truth ads has been low because of low cable-TV penetration.
In 2007, Legacy will provide $2.8 million in addition to the CDC's $1.2 million grant.
