Siebel Gives $5 Million for Montana Meth Project December 6, 2006
Funding Tips & Trends
The Thomas and Stacey Siebel Foundation has announced a $5-million matching grant program in support of the Montana Meth Project, until recently chaired by entrepreneur Thomas Siebel.
The Philanthropy News Digest reported Nov. 24 that Siebel said that the foundation would match up to $5 million in other individual and corporate donations to the project, a media campaign that warns against the hazards of methamphetamine use. The program is also funded with state and federal grants.
"Two years ago, meth officially wasn't a problem," Siebel said. "Today, it's recognized as a national problem and we are doing something about it. We are being held up as a model for the rest of the nation. That is something we can be very proud of."
