Funding Tips & Trends

Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) is calling on its members to lobby lawmakers to approve a funding increase for the National Guard Counterdrug Program, a prevention resource for many anti-drug coalitions.

The Senate budget plan for the Defense Department calls for spending $268.1 million on the program in FY2006; but that is far more than the $219 million budget in FY2005, the Bush administration plan to spend $169.4 million on the program, or the House-approved budget figure of $185.4 million.

CADCA is asking coalition leaders to contact their Congressional representatives and urge them to support the Senate figure in an upcoming conference committee.
