Funding Tips & Trends

The QuikTrip Corp., which runs a chain of convenience stores in 8 states, donates 5 percent of its annual profits to charity each year. Funding priorities include programs that discourage negative youth behaviors such as smoking, drinking, and violent behavior.

Grants also are awarded to programs that prompt measurable, positive changes in youth and initiatives focused on pre-K through grade 12 educational reform. Grant amounts vary, and applications are accepted year-round.

QuikTrip awards grants in the communities it operates in, which include Phoenix, Ariz., Atlanta, Ga., Des Moines, Iowa, Kansas City and Wichita, Kan., Kansas City and St. Louis, Mo., Omaha, Neb., Tulsa, Okla., and Dallas-Ft. Worth, Texas.
