Assistance to small businesses may include technical support, needs assessment, program development, employee education, and drug testing. A number of community coalitions and treatment providers currently provide such services to employers.
Community coalitions "already have the expertise to develop those strategies to reach out to the corporate sector and help them," said Becky Vance, executive director of Drug Free Business Houston. "If the legislation is reauthorized, more coalitions will be prepared and eligible to get this money."
