Funding Opportunity
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has announced a series of behavioral and social sciences research grants aimed at addressing methodology and measurement issues in diverse populations. (R01, R21, and R03).
The grants will fund research -- including Alcohol and Drug Abuse and Addiction research -- that "is aimed at improving and developing methodology and measurement in the behavioral and social sciences through innovations in research design, data collection techniques, measurement, and data analysis techniques."
Specifically, research that focuses on "methodology and measurement issues in diverse populations, issues in studying sensitive behaviors, issues of ethics in research, issues related to confidential data and the protection of research subjects, and issues in developing interdisciplinary, multimethod, and multilevel approaches" will be considered.
Research must be relevant to the missions of the participating NIH Institutes and Centers.
Award amounts will vary, according to the scope and nature of the research. Application deadline is September 7, 2011.
Eligible applicants include Native American tribal governments and organizations; county, state, or city governments; nonprofits; private and public institutions of higher education; and more.
