The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation is now accepting nominations for their $1.5 million prize for 2009. The prize acknowledges one outstanding nonprofit, charitable, or non-governmental organization that has made significant "contributions toward alleviating human suffering anywhere in the world."

The award will be given for present and past accomplishments, and is thus not a grant for future goals or research.

Eligible nominees must have an operating budget of $500,000 or more.
