Funding Opportunity

The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) will award research grants to study alcohol-related public policies such as those detailed in the Alcohol Policy Information System, the agency has announced.

Funding will support "research on the effects of alcohol-related public policies on health-related behaviors and outcomes, evaluations and analyses of the effectiveness of public policy measures in improving public health and reducing the burden of alcohol-related illness and mortality, and research to advance methods and measurement used in studying relationships between alcohol-related public policies and health-related behaviors and outcomes."

Grants will be awarded under the R01, R03, and R21 funding mechanisms.

Non-profits, for-profit firms, governments, tribes, schools and others may apply for the grants.

Awards under the R21 process are capped at $200,000.

For full details, see the grant announcements at the links above.
