A pair of recent grant announcements solicit applications for funding of research on medication development for treating alcoholism.
The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) will award $2 million for research into pharmacological agents that prevent or reduce alcohol intake, such as by decreasing alcohol cravings or alleviating alcohol withdrawal.
Application deadline is April 26.
