Armed School Drug and Weapons Raid Turns Up Nothing

A drug and weapons raid in a South Carolina high school, where police stormed the hallways with guns drawn, turned up no contraband, MSNBC reported Nov. 7.

More than a dozen armed Goose Creek police entered Stratford High School and ordered students to hit the ground while police dogs sniffed backpacks and bags for drugs and weapons.

Neither was found in the search.

"I'm absolutely outraged," said Danny Partin, whose stepson attends Stratford. "This is supposed to be a free country, not a police state."

Principal George McCrackin said he talked with police about a search because drugs have become a growing problem in the school.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating the search.
