Why didn't I receive the article that I emailed myself from the web site?

Spam filtering software programs often stop delivery of email messages that are "To" and "From" the same email address. Typing different email addresses in the "To" and "From" boxes should avoid this problem. If you still don't receive the message, it may be in your junk mail (spam) folder.

Why didn't I receive my Join Together Direct email? Is spam filtering software the problem?

Anti-spam software installed on your computer or mail system may be preventing you from receiving Join Together Direct. You need to set your spam filter to allow messages from updates@jointogether.org:

  • Hotmail, Yahoo and AOL Users: Click the "Add Address" or "Save Address" button or link beside the "From" address at the top of your email interface.
  • Outlook Users: Click on the Actions menu and select Junk E-mail followed by "Add Sender to Safe Senders List.
  • Other Email System Users: Please follow the software or service-provider's instructions for adding updates@jointogether.org to your "safe list" (sometimes called a white list or allowed senders list). If you receive your e-mail on a workplace e-mail system, you may need to discuss this matter with your computer staff.

If you continue to have difficulty and you have another e-mail account such as Yahoo, Hotmail, or Gmail, you might want to sign up for Join Together Direct using that e-mail address.

Why did I receive two copies of Join Together Direct?

Please check your subscription account to ensure that you are only signed up for the edition(s) you want. The Weekly News edition is a selection of articles from the previous week's Daily Editions, and is sent on Monday at the same time as the Daily edition. The Weekly News and Weekly Funding News editions may look similar, but have different articles.

You might also be receiving messages at two different email addresses. The bottom of every message from us displays the email it was sent to. Click the subscription management link at the bottom of the message to unsubscribe that address.

Why can't I login to my subscription management page?
How do I find out my password?

A common login error is not typing your password correctly -- passwords are case sensitive (thus, "mypassword" is not the same as "MyPassword"). Also, make sure you type your e-mail address correctly.

If you don't know your password, simply use our password retriever to have it sent to you by email.

The word puzzle isn't working when I want to post a comment or email a story to a friend.

This extra step is regretfully necessary to foil spammers. Here are some tips:
  • Type the nonsense word you see into the text box right below it.

  • The puzzle is case-sensitive. If you see a capital letter you must type it as seen.

  • The puzzle is always one word. There are no spaces.

  • If you are having trouble reading the series of letters, click the "Change" text link to get a new word. (Your comment or email to a friend information will not be lost.)
